Intel has announced the launch of its next-generation B-series Intel Arc GPUs, the Arc B580 and Arc B570. These midrange graphics cards aim to rival Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4060 and AMD’s RX 7600 series.

The Arc B580 is priced at $249 with 12GB of RAM, while the Arc B570 is priced at $219 with 10GB of RAM.

The Arc B580 is scheduled for release on December 13 and marks the debut of Intel’s new “Battlemage” architecture. The B570 will follow on January 16.

These GPUs continue to use cutting-edge TSMC 5 nm silicon manufacturing processes and are expected to deliver significant improvements over their predecessors’ 6 nm technology.

Intel’s Battlemage cards are equipped with a single 8-pin power connector and seem to be a significant step forward for gamers targeting 1440p resolution.

Intel’s latest powerful midrange GPUs

The company’s performance claims suggest the Arc B580 could outperform Nvidia’s RTX 4060 by about 10 percent.

These cards also come with more RAM than their counterparts, which is beneficial for gaming at higher resolutions. The new GPUs introduce XeSS 2, Intel’s latest upscaling technology, and features like frame generation and Xe Low Latency. These technologies aim to enhance gaming smoothness and reduce latency.

Intel emphasizes the superior performance of its GPUs when ray tracing is enabled. The B580 is reported to be about 24 percent faster than the Arc A750 at 1440p, showcasing notable improvements in midrange ray-tracing capabilities compared to AMD’s offerings. Speculation continues on whether higher-end B-series GPUs will be released next year, potentially challenging Nvidia’s higher-tier cards.

Intel’s strategic pricing and performance claims position the B580 and B570 as compelling choices for gamers seeking high-performance GPUs under $300.
