Inhabitat.com is a blog centered in discussing design of all sorts: textile, architecture, gadgets, furniture, graphic, industrial design –you name it, they cover it.
As can be clearly seen from the site’s logo and tagline (“Future-forward design for the world you inhabit”), the stress is on presenting news on green and environment-friendly stuff and initiatives from around the world, for instance: on the cover today you can learn about the Guerrilla Gardening wave (people who just out of the blue plant flowers or plants in unused bits of turf in the city), or about Ireland’s success in banning plastic bags from supermarkets. The stories are quite short (500 words at most) and are usually illustrated by a picture to help you figure out what they are speaking about, as there is lots of material on prototypes and inventions which are quite hard to grasp on a text-only basis. The site also presents a very comprehensive set of links to specialized green sites on architecture, design, gardening, politics, energy and other stuff as well, so it is a good place to start a search and, also, if you think there is anything missing, the editorial team at this blog encourages submissions by its readers, so don’t hesitate to send your stuff in.
