Artists simply upload as many tracks as they wish which can then be bundled together with artwork and sold as an album, or each song can be sold separately– it”s completely up to the musician. Indistr in turn will provide the platform for selling the music; buyers can purchase songs using their PayPal account or a credit card. Indistr doesn”t support DRM, so music can be played on whatever player a buyer fancies. Artists immediately get 75% of the profits and they get to set the price (individual tracks are however set at a dollar per pop). The idea is pretty sound, but the music industry is partly based on hype and publicity. Musicians won”t make as much money without the touring and the ad campaigns etc. etc. provided by big studios. Unless Indistr really makes it big, artists won”t get much attention.
