IIT Madras is set to host the 10th edition of its entrepreneurship summit from February 28 to March 2, 2025. The event, dubbed ‘Decade of Dynamism,’ will bring together over 1,000 founders, 50 investors, and 15,000 students from more than 400 colleges across India. The summit will feature a live fundraising event called ‘PitchFest’ for the first time.
Around 100 startups will compete for funding from leading angel investors in just 5 minutes. This annual event serves as a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs, providing a platform to nurture innovative ideas and transform them into viable business ventures. Institute director V.
Kamakoti highlighted that PitchFest offers students an opportunity to demonstrate their ability to attract funding by convincing angel investors.
IIT’s decade of dynamism
The e-summit will also debut the ‘biz bazaar,’ a marketplace for students to showcase and sell their creations.
E-cell faculty advisor Richa Agrawal noted that the summit is the culmination of a yearlong effort of the e-cell team on campus and beyond. She remarked that the E-Summit marks a significant milestone, celebrating a decade of commitment and excellence in promoting entrepreneurship. Additional features of the summit include a startup expo, a bootcamp for early-stage startups, an incubator-summit, and a pan-India fundraising event called Elevate.
Elevate fosters collaboration between early-stage entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors, and venture capitalists. The e-summit will also feature social initiatives such as In-verse, aimed at empowering the creative arts sector, and Education-21, designed to help schoolchildren appreciate the potential of an entrepreneurial mindset. Sukheth Kallupalli, Co-Curricular Affairs Secretary, highlighted the E-Cell’s consistent efforts to establish entrepreneurship as a viable career path for students across different stages of their entrepreneurial journey, from initial inspiration to successful fundraising.
The E-Summit’25 promises to be a landmark event, reflecting a decade of dynamism and dedication to fostering entrepreneurship within the IIT Madras community and beyond.
