Remember when it was cool to have a chat with your friend using a web cam? HeyCosmo is taking this idea to its next level, allowing ten live web-cam video participants to be online together at one time, with up to 50 people listening, watching, and chatting during the session. That is incredible, and only portends our future hi-tech mobile world.
You can share photos, play video games, watch videos, shop, sing Kareoke…whatever your heart desires to do online (well, not sure about that statement actually).

Why Heycosmo.com It Might Be A Killer
Using the tag line, ‘sign in and leave the virtual world behind,’ this site is part of the ongoing evolution of our mobile world…with a mix between wanting more virtual life while also wanting more real-world connections. Of course, the real world connection here is in the virtual world, but that is exactly what our lives are these days. This site is pushing the envelope in web and social networking technolgoy and should be embraced for its originality and innovation. It seems particularly useful for businesses in different locations, but most likely will be used by the younger hi-tech generation for fun and enhanced social networking abilities (imagine MySpace with web cams…even 10 web cams talking at the same time….that is this site).
Some Questions About Heycosmo.com
Are people ready to interact like this or is this technology a tad premature? Why would people share YouTube videos on a live platform as opposed to just emailling or IM’ing it? Are they looking to integrate with the large social networking networks and forever change the social networking landscape?
Updates
HeyCosmo launches the public beta in June 2007. Among them is the world’s first live, multi-playable Texas Hold’em poker game bringing the world of virtual gaming to life. Another update is an increased number of people allowed in a live channel. Now, HeyCosmo’s technology supports up to 10 live web-cam video participants, and up to 50 people can listen, watch, and chat during the session.
