HelpScout is a web application that can be used by members of any team to have emails shared among themselves. Think of the whole system as a sort of shared inbox that lets users see exactly who the sender of any message is, and visualize his history as a customer at a glance. Then, users can make annotations and have tasks distributed among themselves.
For example, it is very easy to set down the member of the team that should take care of contacting the sender back, and avoid making the horrible blunder of having someone contacted more than once. That is appalling, even when the two people who get in touch say the same thing.
