Google has introduced new AI-powered shopping tools to help users find clothing items and try on makeup looks virtually. The “Vision Match” feature, now available to all U.S. mobile users, allows shoppers to describe a garment they are looking for, and the AI generates images and suggests shoppable items that match the description. To use Vision Match, users can search for the garment and scroll to the “Can’t find it?
Create it” prompt or navigate to the left panel in the Shopping tab and select “Create & Shop.” This feature aims to bridge the gap between a shopper’s idea and the available products. Google is also expanding its virtual try-on features for makeup. U.S. shoppers can now experiment with various lipsticks, mascaras, eyeshadows, and eyeliners from brands like E.L.F., Fenty, and Glossier.
By searching for specific makeup looks on mobile, such as “spring makeup” or “soft glam,” users can tap “See the looks on you” and “try it on” to virtually apply the products and see how they would look.
Enhanced AI virtual shopping tools
Additionally, Google has enhanced its virtual try-on tools for clothing.
Shoppers can now visualize pants and skirts on real models in sizes ranging from XXS to XXL. The updated machine learning models generate the full look, including the matching top and shoes. These new AI-powered tools are designed to make online shopping more visual and personalized.
They help customers feel more confident in their purchases by allowing them to better visualize and select products that align with their style preferences. According to Google’s VP of Consumer Shopping Product, more than half of American makeup users seek inspiration online, and 51% of shoppers express interest in AI features. These new immersive shopping features aim to streamline the process of finding products that match personal styles, making the shopping experience both easier and more enjoyable.
