GigWalk is an interesting service that enables companies to recruit people to do small jobs around town – jobs that can all be accomplished on their iPhones.
For example, a company that wants to ensure its products have the right placement on shop windows can post an ad on the GigWalk website, and those who respond to that advertisement will be able to perform that task just by going to the stores in question and taking snaps with their mobiles. And the same goes for tasks such as reporting red light cameras, or verifying street names.
The idea is that those who go for this service will eventually become part of a worldwide community who help each other out (IE, the gigwalkers). And over time, those who are really active will begin getting access to more and more lucrative jobs through the site.
So far, the Gig Walk mobile application is only available for those who have an iPhone. It can be downloaded for free on the App Store.
