ForumComm.com – Giving Information Life

ForumComm.comAre Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin part of your target audience? If you are still in the process of researching your marketing outlets, and haven’t found a multimedia group to take your message along in any or all of those locations, maybe it’s time for you to check out this site, home for Forum Communications Company, a network of newspapers, radio stations, interactive media (internet) and commercial printers operating in those states. Strangely enough, though the site has some nice looks to it, the content is quite skimpy: you will only find a map where the news/information outlets are located, and by hovering over you’ll find the name of the station/paper.

Should you choose to follow that link, you’ll find the same contact information in larger print, usually a picture of the front of the building, and only very occasionally some words on the history of the news station. Corporate branding? Independent history of the information source? Editorial line? Nah, not here, though I wonder where, if anywhere… So, if you are an advertiser and enjoyed imagining the targets and focal points of Forum Communications Company, and would like to give them your money to have your message delivered to only god knows what phantom audience, follow the nonexistent links to get in touch with them. There’s lots of things wrong with this site, first one being that the content doesn’t seem to have made it to the last version of the site, and the second one being that it offers not one single opportunity for exchange and feedback with its readers: the whole site is like a huge stone in the way of any online walker, and it transmits a somewhat Orwellesque message: if the network is one of the most relevant news and information broadcasters in its area, how come they won’t listen to what people have to say?
