When a site is being put together, the designer uses a series of expressions in Latin to fill the spaces in which texts will be placed when the site is finally ready. These are the infamous Lorem Ipsum quotations, and I have actually seen a couple of them in sites that were actually live. Not all over the place, of course, but rather in specific sections of these sites such as the About Us pages. That just highlights to which extent Lorem Ipsum quotations are common currency for website designers.
Somebody, however, has got a little bored with them and devised this new service. Named Fillerati, it lets any designer have the Lorem Ipsum texts replaced with quotes from real literary works. The user is enabled to have his pick from writers of the calibre of Helman Melville, Jack London, Jules Vernes and Lewis Carroll and have some paragraphs from their works used instead.
I agree this is quite interesting, but… the Lorem Ipsum text gives you an instant awareness that you reading something generic. If you came across a quote from a classic book, it would take you longer to figure out that such a thing is what you are reading. Is this productive or counterproductive? Hmmm…

Why Fillerati.com It Might Be A Killer
Although its practicality can be questioned, it is a novel service.
