Online marketplaces are becoming wider and richer in terms of the interactions that can be established through them. And if we were to look for a marketplace exemplifying that in a very clear way, then this would be a good candidate.
It is solely meant for fashionistas. It lets them support up-and-coming designers, and receive some unique privileges in return. These include everything from discounted pre-orders to Fashion Week tickets.
The way in which people support designers, now, is what is more interesting. People are actually donating money towards the development of their careers, and the main page highlights how much any designer still has got to go to reach his/her goal.
People can then to vote on new collections by that designer, suggest ideas for new garments, and (generally) criticize or approve the direction in which the designer is headed
