The United States of America is a nation of immigrants, through out our history there have been people coming to this country from around the globe to seek there fortune in the land of the free. For many people the first place they saw in the United States of America was the Ellis Island Immigration Center.
This centre was an immigration office from eighteen ninety two until nineteen fifty four and for many of our parents and grand parents was there first experience of there new lives. The center is no longer an active immigration center, but is now a museum dedicated to America’s immigration heritage. You may be familiar with Ellis Island Immigration Museum, as it featured in the movie Hitch that stared Will Smith.
