eCharityBox is a new service that will let people make donations to their favorite charities using their mobiles and many of the Web services of the day. The way it all works is by enabling charities to collect micro donations from donors through their iPhone, BlackBerry, Facebook, PC/MAC and the web.
A branded app is created for each individual charity, and donors download it. They then proceed to drop “virtual” coins or bills into their eCharityBoxes, and once the box is “full” the pertinent amount is charged and an automated tax receipt is sent the donor’s way.
Moreover, donors can set their boxes to auto-donate at given intervals. For example, donations can be given daily, weekly, monthly or even at set intervals like every 8 days. That is set down manually by the donor.
When all is said and done, this is a solution that equally benefits both sides in the process. Charities can accept gifts across the board, and donors are enabled to give in a variety of ways – all of them requiring little to no effort. It sure beats these dull and unengaging donation pages that you can see everyplace.
