The Detroit Public Schools website can be found online at DetroitK12.org. As you can read on the website, the district’s primary goal is to create centers of excellence in every school all over Detroit, and enhance the performance of students in an exponential way. All in all, students in more than 100 different schools are receiving grants and scholarships, along with netbooks and the tutoring of reading corps. Not to mention that they are studying at renovated buildings and centers.

DetroitK12.org comes with all the information that educators, students and parents could need to benefit from such an initiative. These are the sections that you can access on the homepage: “Schools”, “Leadership”, “Offices”, “Parent Essentials” and “Business & Careers”. And there’s also a “News” section where you can read the latest developments and announcements.
On the whole, the site makes it easy for students to know about these activities that are available, and the contact information for all the offices in their campuses.
Plus, a “Get Involved” link lets those who want to lend a hand become personally involved in the activities of the DPS. For example, those who have the time (and the skills) can easily become reading corps, or citizen patrols. And people who want to make a donation can easily do so on that section of the site, too.
