Quite an original service, DepotCode deserves praise for taking something that was already there and using it in a completely novel way. Because nobody had ever taken QR codes before, and used them for copyright purposes like the ones responsible for DepotCode are using them now.
That’s the essence of DepotCode. It’s a new service that makes for registering documents by having a unique QR associated to them. That code is termed a “DepotCode”, and the idea is that all the people you share this code with are enabled to access full copyright information by merely inputting it on the DepotCode site. They’ll get to know about the registrant’s name, the date the document has been entered into the system, and information such as its number of pages and file format.
DepotCode has just been released, and it’ll definitely be interesting to see which reactions it elicits. I’ll say it again – it’s a very original service, and one that fills a gap many probably didn’t even notice that was there at all. It gets a thumbs-up from me, and if you are into creative writing then I’m sure you’ll approve of it as well.
