As the Union for the Information Age, CWA joins workers in a variety of private and public companies that are related to IT and tech in one way or the other: airlines, broadcast media, printers and publishers, healthcare, etc. The site is less about benefits for union members than it is about information and spreading the word to generate awareness about some urgent issues regarding free speech and telecommunications policy, social security, individual and union rights, and a wide specter of topics of interest.
Extensive information and reading material is available in the site, together with links to other websites to go on researching to build a point. Though the information seems to be very thorough in itself, it would be nice for the site to allow users to generate an account and bookmark or highlight things of interest, or maybe email articles to a friend; it would also be great if users could select type size in order to read material I whatever way is more comfortable for them. RSS subscription features could also be a wonderful way to increase traffic and therefore awareness; still, users can use the resources on the ‘Tools for Communicators’ tag to download videos, images and clipart, or to find a directory of links of interest to go on reading or writing about.
