Crowdspoke is a Colorado startup that will make you think of Reddit a lot, as it focuses on letting people discover the best of the Web. Yet, Crowdspoke aims to do things even better than Reddit and most other social news sites by giving the whole process of finding and sharing news an even larger collaborative feel. As a result, Crowdspoke organizes communities around specific topics, and the emphasis is on letting people interact over real-time content. If you use this site, you’ll get to comment on the stories that other people post and vote them up/down. And people will do the same for you, of course.
The Crowdspoke homepage displays the newest and the most popular stories, and there’s also a livestream that shows Twitter content which is connected to the featured stories. And you can also search stories that come with specific images, videos and links.
The site works pretty well already, but it certainly could use a redesign to look less like Reddit and more like the original concept it is. When that is done (and when the site gets more editors to help curate its content) then Crowdspoke should have a bigger chance of getting somewhere. If you feel this is a project you could contribute something positive to, then you can join the Crowdspoke community by following this link.
