Organized and designed to look like a college campus, the site provides college sports info, updated news 24/7, game videos and highlights, a campus store, virtual sports parties or tailgates, and of course the ubiquitous personal profiles. You can also connect to a site that lets you develop your own sport talk show, or podcast, to share with your friends and family. Soon they will also showcase alumni news of college sports stars. Right now the site is focused on college football, but they hope to cover all other men and women’s collegiate sports soon.

Given all the other successful niche social networking sites out there, this seems as good a market as any and maybe an even better one given the passion many people have for college sports. I liked the idea of highlighting the stories of famous alumnis.

Do college sports fans need a new place to network and get sports news? It seems like all of this college sports news is easily located on other sites, and colleges would sponsor their own fan sites with official connections and benefits. I thought the design and layout was a bit corny and too kitschy, with little originality or intrigue for a real college sports fantatic? Also, who started this site and why was there no info on the purpose or mission of the site?
