According to some theory that has been quoted and mentioned a lot recently, only six people separate us from any person in the world. And you know, it’s a theory that makes a lot of sense at a time in which social networks like Facebook let us become connected with people in the furthest regions of the planet. This new website certainly underlines that fact. Cliq can go through any person’s social profiles and discover in which ways he is connected with businesses and products all over the world.
The main use of this new service (which is self-dubbed a “social knowledge engine”) is letting people make their minds easier when looking into new products or companies to try out. Yet, the potential is clearly here for letting users make even larger decisions.
Right now, Cliq can go through Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare profiles. But the site is in alpha right now, so don’t be surprised if a good couple more services are added to this list before too long. And (personally) I’d also love to see a browser toolbar becoming available, along with a bookmarklet.
