Chir.ps – Tweet Using Your Voice

Chir.psVoiced services for Twitter are gaining preeminence. That is nothing surprising, it is only logical that the concept of tweeting would be developed in as many directions as it could go, and the idea of voice-powered tweets is certainly interesting.

That is what the suitably-named Chir.ps website enables anybody to do: to tweet orally. The site features an audio recorder that is very basic – “record”, “stop” and “play” are the only featured buttons for you to press about – and it gives you the possibility to tweet the resulting audio file. That is, the audio file does not displace the tweet itself, but rather accompany the tweet and it can be listened to effortlessly.

Note that a “Chirp with your iPhone” feature is likewise featured for you to use this service while you are on the go.

As I said at the beginning, voiced tweets are an interesting development. But just because they are interesting it does not mean they will catch on or displace tweets as we know them. At any rate, the site is worth-visiting and also worth-trying out in person.
