The College of Family Physicians of Canada was founded in 1954, and it stands as the medical association that provides family physicians the resources for giving high quality health care to their patients. The College is made up of voluntary members that serve on committees, tasks forces, and work groups.
These members form a community that is in constant interaction, as members consult each other on issues such as medical ethics and the role of a family physician in modern society. The College’s website is divided into sections that cater for patients and physicians alike. Patients can read articles on a wide variety of topics that range from allergies and asthma to breast cancer and depression, whereas doctors can peruse an online collection of articles that cover the nuances of their profession. Likewise, there is a host of information for students and residents. In addition to that, library services are also provided.
