Centrif.net – Delivering Answers

Centrif.netYou use search engines like Google to find answers to all manner of questions—how to remove wine stains, or who discovered Velcro, for instance. The problem, however, is that Google et al index web pages with info regarding your query, that is, you don’t get your answer right off the bat.

Centrif combines user input, bookmarks and online references to solve this problem. Users submit answers, bookmarking pages containing relevant information. Pages may be added using Centrif’s bookmarklet, via the site itself, or through Firefox. Thus when other users ask a question at the main site, Centrif will pull up submissions brought in from other contributors. Questions/answers with more than one submission will be ranked by popularity, so that the best answer rises to the top. As the site is still fresh out of the box, so to speak, the answers are currently limited, but you can help out by adding pages.

Centrif.net In Their Own Words

“A search engine like Google can tell you what’s on a web page. That’s the answer to your question. But you don’t know the answer yet! That’s why you’re searching…
How can you search for the answer when you only know the question? Simple. Someone has probably asked your question before. Why solve a problem twice?

When you search on centrif, you’re searching other users’ questions. If you had the same question they did, you’ll discover the answer they found useful.”

Why Centrif.net It Might Be A Killer

Centrif has devised a smart way to get to the heart of the question and answer conundrum common to search engines. Users, rather than having to wade through pages of unhelpful info, will get their answers right away.

Some Questions About Centrif.net

Centrif has a long ways to go. First of all, any question asked has to be worded exactly in the same way as whoever submitted pages and answers had phrased the question; otherwise you won’t get an answer. This alone is a serious hitch. Also, are the answers people do submit reliable? Are they screened? How is the site going to attract more users to add entries? Centrif.net
