Bowie State University is part of the University System of Maryland. The university is Maryland’s oldest historically black school and one of the ten oldest in the country.
Bowie State University offers a wide range of undergraduate majors, master’s and doctoral programs as well as post-baccalaureate certificate programs. The school has four departments including the School of Arts and Sciences, Business, Education, and Professional Studies. As well as offering excellent academic programs Bowie also excels in athletics offering a variety of sports including basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, and softball to name a few.
