BarTab is a new iPhone app that will let you invite your Facebook friends out and buy them a drink for just $ 1. Now, before you get all excited and proclaim this the greatest app in the history of mankind you must understand that: A) For the time being, only bars in San Francisco are supported, and B) Only the first drink of the night will cost you $ 1.
The remaining drinks will cost what they always cost.
Still, that doesn’t make the app any less fulfilling. If anything, it will give you an excellent excuse to go out and check this or that bar. And any venue that is just opening its doors couldn’t really ask for a better way to start making a name for itself.
Using BarTab couldn’t be easier – all you have to do in order to buy a Facebook friend a drink is sign up, link a credit card to the service and proceed to buy the drink. You friend will be notified, and he will receive a digital drink ticket that can be redeemed at the bar in question.
