Audi has announced the limited-edition RS6 Avant GT for the U.S. market, with only 85 units available. The particular model pays homage to the iconic Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO race car and features a retuned 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 621 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. The RS6 Avant GT boasts a 0-60 mph time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph.
Visually, the car features high-gloss black front grille and air intakes, a new front splitter, vertical blades in the front apron, carbon fiber hood and fenders, unique side skirts, a new rear diffuser, a rear spoiler, and distinctive 22-inch wheels. These modifications enhance the car’s aesthetic and contribute to its performance by saving 40 kg (88 lbs) in weight.
Audi’s limited-edition tribute model
Audi has revised the Quattro sport differential for improved handling and added adjustable coilover suspension. Inside, the RS6 Avant GT continues the heritage theme with RS sport seats in Valcona leather adorned with red and copper double stitching and an RS6 GT logo. The cabin also features floormats embroidered with “RS6 GT” lettering, a Dinamica-covered dashboard, a center console, upper door panels, and Alcantara finishes with matching red and copper stitching on the steering wheel and armrests.
The limited-edition RS6 Avant GT undergoes a specialized production process. Body construction and painting are completed in the main production line at Neckarsulm, while final assembly takes place at the exclusive Böllinger Höfe facility. Despite the substantial performance upgrades, the RS6 Avant GT has a hefty price tag of $198,900, a significant increase from the $126,600 starting price of the standard RS6 Avant Performance. The exclusive model is expected to arrive in the U.S. before the end of this year.
