ARIN is a Regional Internet Registry (RIR), listing IP and ASN numbers for Canada, the United States, and several islands in the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean. Given that IPs are limited, several of these regional boards are available in the world to ensure that no hoarding takes place, and that everyone can get fair and equal access to the internet.
ARIN is a non-profit organization that aims to create inventories, regulate and generate common policies in regard to internet numbers and protocols. In terms of information, users will be able to learn about space allocation, transfer, and record maintenance both for IP addresses and ASN. The Directories comprise information on Registration transaction information (WHOIS) and Routing information (Internet Routing Registry). ARIN is run by a board of elected members, whose profiles users will be able to explore by visiting the site.
