The Architect of the Capitol is the responsible party to the Congress of the United States of America for the maintenance and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex. The expression “United States Capitol Complex” alludes to the Capitol itself, and the congressional office buildings, plus other facilities including the building of the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court building, and the US Botanic Garden.
