AmericanAngler was created in 1978 as a quarterly newsletter called Fly Tyer. It struggled through editors, owners, formats and names changes until Abenaki Publishers aquired the publication in 1992. At this time it was known by American Angler. The magazin was moved to Bennington, VT and is now owned by MCC Magazines, LLC, a division of Morris Communications Company, LLC. AmericanAngler.com is based out of Augusta, Georgia. It also has sister publications titled Gray’s Sporting Journal and Fly Tyler. Many of the magazines subscribers are well-educated males and most of whom are devoted to fly-fishing. American Angler is one of the best written, edited, and looking publications in its industry.
