If you have been shopping at Amazon ever since it became a viable alternative to physical shopping back in the late ‘90s, then you already know the way it works like the palm of your hand: input search… click on results… input search… click on results… Of course, that interface works splendidly, so why tamper with something that yields good results? Because of the biggest catalyst around: boredom.
That is the one explanation for the existence of a site like AmazType that I can actually find.
It offers you a chance to shop at Amazon in an entirely different way as far as visualization goes. You key in your search, and the results will be presented using the covers of the relevant items to spell the actual word you had inputted.
This is quite a peculiar application, and a nod of originality to whoever designed it. I don’t have to tell you that this is the kind of site that you try out once out of curiosity and never get near a second time, but – again – it is nice to see fresh ideas for a change of scene.
