Bolder is the kind of site that first and foremost attempts to make the world a better place. In order to achieve that lofty goal, the company acts as a mediator between businesses and the general public.
On its site, the former sponsor challenges that the latter should try and complete, and in every case we are talking about challenges that benefit society. For example, the one that was listed when I tried the site was no other than promoting small businesses by making people buy local.
People who have tackled the challenges that are posted are provided with a short space (140 characters) to tell others what they did and why they think that they have helped society by doing that. These stories are posted on an action feed which is featured on the main page, right below the challenge. Fellow community members are able to read them, make comments and (the maximum accolade) vote for what others have done. It’s a bit like digging anything, except that on this site they vote it as “Bold”. The boldest actions are then awarded special rewards (because everybody wins something just for participating), and the ones who did them are featured on the blog to tell the stories in even greater detail.
