Home to the famous ACT Test, ACT.org offers a variety of resources concerning the American College Testing program. Visitors to the ACT website can register for the test online and select their preferred testing center. Applicants who are unable to pay by credit card or who are under 13 years of age must register by mail. ACT.org provides instructions for both online and mail-in registration for the test. ACT testing services for students with disabilities is also available and may include special accommodations, extended time for taking the test, and special testing with alternative formats and extended time.
Folks who cannot attend a standard testing session because they are outside of the United States or Canada during all test dates, a testing center is not available within 50 miles of their home, or if they are confined or otherwise homebound may request to arrange testing. Information regarding arranged testing is available as a downloadable PDF file on ACT.org.
The basic registration fee for the ACT is $34 and $49.50 for the ACT Plus Writing. Additional registration fees may also apply such as a late registration fee of $21, standby testing fee of $42, an international testing fee of $27, $21 to change the test date, $21 to change the test center, and a variety of other service fees.
The ACT website offers a basic ACT Online Prep program as well as Sample Essays for the Writing Test component of the ACT Plus Writing test. ACT online prep is $19.95 for one user of one year and it includes practice tests, practice essays, a diagnostic test and custom study path, as well as an in-depth review of Reading, Math, Science, and English (the four required components of the ACT). ACT.org additional provided students with information about what their scores mean, college planning, financial aid, and career planning.
