This site is home for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. If you are not familiar with this organization, you’ll probably know about the Science magazine, which is published by this association by putting together submissions from the international member academies.
You can go on reading about this organization in the site, find out about groundbreaking research results, read excerpts from papers, learn about science literacy programs enforced by the association and many other features. For researchers and also for the general audience, the highlighted topics will be of great interest, as these clusters of links and reading material will allow anyone –regardless of how knowledgeable about science they are— to gain quick and deep understanding of such vital issues as global warming, evolution of the species, or behavioral studies applied to the presidential campaign. The bit about the site I liked best is the kid’s portal, where you can find snippets, short stories and strange facts written in a style which is very easy to understand, thus making it a great resource for teachers to encourage students to learn about science and nature.
