ZAP Reader is a new browser-based tool that will let you speed up the way you read texts. Theoretically speaking, the system lets you increase your reading speed to up to 300 % without any loss in comprehension.
There are two ways you can use it: by pasting text to be displayed back, or by providing a URL to be run through. In both cases, you can specify the reading speed manually. By default, you can read at 300 words per minute.
A nice touch is that a wealth of add-ons for the most popular browsers on the WWW today are included, along with plug-ins for some blogging platforms of note. This way, you can integrate ZAP Reader with Wordpress, TypePad Blogs and Blogger.
When I tried it out, I noticed that it worked better with stand alone texts. That is, it had some difficulty going through some sites that I threw at it. Still, the project is in beta so there is plenty of time for ironing these (small) spots.
