The YouTube Social website lives up to its name: it will let you watch YouTube in a truly collective way. On the site, you can create “viewing parties” by merely adding the word “social” to any YouTube URL that you want to watch with your pals.
Upon doing so, a new URL will be generated, and you can then use that URL to invite friends to the viewing party.
Provided he is on Facebook, that is. The actual invitation process involves posting that URL to his wall. At the start of the process, you are asked to authenticate who you are by signing in via Facebook. This lets your friends know that you are who you claim to be
Once the party has been assembled, you simply start playing the video and everybody will see it at the same time. If you pause it or stop it, the video will be paused or stopped for everybody. And if you want to delegate the ability to control the video to other person, you can proceed to “give the remote” to any person in the party by clicking on his avatar. He will be able to control the streaming from that point onwards.
YouTubeSocial.com In Their Own Words
“Type ‘social’ into a YouTube URL before the ‘.com’ to watch it with you friends!”
Why YouTubeSocial.com It Might Be A Killer
The implementation is quite good – you can create a party within seconds, and since Facebook is used all the people involved will know that everybody is who he claims to be.
