Worksy ups the ante in productivity tools by bringing together all the services that small business owners need in the same place. This Copenhagen-based startup is specially aimed at non-technical users, and it’s presented as a series of modules that integrate with each other. Worksy lets you manage contacts, appointments, emails and activities using a really practical interface, and a calendar of its own.
All of Worsky’s modules are actually based on open source technologies such as Joomla, Alfresco and eGroupware. What Worksy does is to take these services and streamline them. And by taking away all of the features that could be confusing to people who aren’t tech-savvy, Worksy effectively removes all kinds of entry barriers. If you’ve ever tried any of the services listed above and found them too complex for their own good, then Worksy is definitely for you.
And Worksy can actually do much more than just letting you manage your business contacts and interactions. Worksy comes with a tool for creating a fully-working website. This tool sticks to the same WYSIWYG principle, and using it you’ll get to create a site from the ground up. And once this site has gone live, then you’ll get to maintain it and update with zero effort.
Plus, Worksy can be used to share documents with your team. And again, it’s a piece of cake. You just upload them, and organize them in the way that it would make things easier for your colleagues.
A future update will introduce full project management capabilities, along with tools for managing both resources and timesheets.
The basic version of Worksy is free, and it comes with access to all modules. However, it’s limited to 1GB of storage. And groups can’t have more than 3 users. These limitations are removed when you sign up for any of the two paid plans that are available, “Business” and “Business+”. The “Business” plan comes with 10GB of storage, and the “Business+” plan with 25GB. And both plans introduce full mobile support.
