Workitmom.com – Community for Working Moms

Workitmom.comWork it Mom! is a site, as the name implies, for working mothers. It aims to create a fun, educational and supportive environment for the millions of working mothers out there.

You can create a profile, blog, journal, join the forum, take polls, find resources, pose a Q&A for the other members (such as, “what is your dream job?), or just browse. They have even sponsored short essay contests (ie, “how do you keep your marriage alive while balancing a career and family?). Even though I am not a working mother, I found the site intriguing and inspiring at the same time. I am still in awe of women who work full time and manage the lives of their kids as well. Best of all, these women are full of energy and creativity, and have mastered the art of multi-tasking and prioritizing. This site is clean, colorful, informative and empowering.

Some Questions About Workitmom.com

Is this site connected with all the magazines and journals targeted at working mothers? Have they considered broadening their conversations to larger societal topics, such as universal health care, child care and politics? How about a working mothers’ political action group? I believe working mothers have much wisdom and creativity to share about how to improve our culture, from government to politics to education to everything. Our government needs to hear from you as a unified group.
