The Word-Detective.Com is the online version of The Word Detective, a newspaper column that answer readers’ question about words and languages.
All the columns appear, in complete form, and they are free for anyone to read. But as a way to support this site, many readers pay a small fee to subscribe. The subscription provides a biweekly mailing list where the creator of the website posts its columns at the same time newspaper receive them. At the top of every page you will find some categories that provide more information about this website. The categories are Home, About TWD, Ask a Question, Index, Privacy Policy, and Subscribe. At the left hand side of the homepage you will find some sections, including new archives, the alphabetical index, old archives, and other language sites. And at the right hand side of the homepage you will find other sections such as recent posts and recent comments.
