Wix, which went live today after a period of private beta testing, is an online application that allows you to create and publish Flash-based web content without requiring any programming or developing knowledge. Wix has a drag and drop interface that allows you to easily add audio, video, images, text, animation and decoration.
Wix projects can be published anywhere including social networks, blogs or websites. The Wix offering can be boiled down to three basic parts called: WixSite, ExtraSpace and WixComment. WixSite allows you to create your own original Flash website with the added bonus that unlike most Flash sites, it is search engine friendly. ExtraSpace is an embeddable object that expands the layout of MySpace profile pages allowing you to add more expression to it. Finally, WixComment is a small little embeddable application that people can add to their MySpace and Facebook pages to add more personal information about themselves.
