VozMe is a simple online application which converts a block of typed text into an accompanying sound file (mp3). To use VozMe, all you need to do is type or cut and paste text into the provided text block and click “generate mp3”.
The service works with text in both Spanish and English. When you’re the sound bite has been created, an external window will pop up and your file will play automatically. You’ll also be provided with the option of downloading the mp3 file. The quality of the file didn’t impress me; the pronunciation in both languages leaves something to be desired and sounds tinny and robotic. If you have a serious need for sound file which reads your site’s text, I would think it would be much better (if not more efficient) to generate your own voice recording of the text in question.
