VGMusic.com – Videogame Music Archive

VGMusic.comVGMusic.com is a midi database storing the best known and most obscure video game themes for every console and gaming system the world has ever met, and when I say this I mean it: it’s not just 90’s Nintendo, but Atari and Commodore and Intellivision.

All the MIDIs are user-submitted, and they are very accurate too: the site hosts a very large collection (close to 25,000 files), which is listed by gaming system/console, all of which have been sequenced by the site’s contributors. Once you are exploring, say, SNK Neo-Geo Pocket, you can take a look at the files which are sorted out by name of the game each midi belongs too, and the titles will point out to what part of he game it belongs to (different levels, score, fx, etc). You can decide to listen to the stuff online, or download it to use it as a ringtone, or any other non-commercial use you care to give to it. If you enjoy sequencing stuff from videogames, take a look at the submission area to learn what you should take into account before uploading your MIDIs to the site and being a part of this exciting project. VGMusic.com also hosts a radio service, where you can listen to streaming variations on video game tunes, which is actually so much better that you would expect it to be, and a very good base if you like mixing your own stuff too.
