Veebeam is a startup company whose first product aims to blur the lines between computers and televisions. Named the Veebeam Box, it lets you play anything you can see on your computer on your TV.
There are actually two playback modes available. The first is named “Desktop Mode” and it will let you play exactly what you have displayed on your desktop on your TV. This mode is the one you are using if you want to play content that is hosted on websites like YouTube or Vimeo. On the other hand, the Play-To mode is the one you will use when you want to play a file that you have downloaded to your computer.
In order to get this service to work, all that you have to do is to connect the Veebeam box into your TV and the provided USB antenna into your computer. By doing so, all that is played on your computer will be broadcast in your TV. It’s as easy as that. There is no software to install, and no other hardware involved other than the one that was just mentioned.
