USPS is a non profit, organization that is dedicated to make boating safer and more enjoyable by providing teaching classes in seamanship, navigation and other related subjects. The USPS members are boating families which contribute to their communities by the promoting of safe boating through education.
USPS has over 45,000 members all organized into 450 squadrons across the country. Squadron’s activities involve: community service, continuing education, and enjoying the friendship of fellow members. In addition, local squadrons offer boating safety courses which are open to the public and the cool thing about them is that there is no age limit for participants. Moreover, some of the courses that are offered are in the subjects of Seamanship, Piloting, Plotting & Position Finding, Celestial Navigation, Cruise Planning, Engine Maintenance, Marine Electronics and Sailing among others.
