UpNext.com – 3D Maps and Reviews of Your Neighborhood

UpNext.comUpNext is a new site which let’s you see in 3D what’s going on in your neighborhood. Actually, it only works in New York right now, Manhattan more specifically, so more than likely you won’t be able to check out your ‘hood, at least not for a while.

However, Upnext does have a good number of shops, restaurants, cafes, businesses, and clubs mapped out with user reviews and commentary. Click on buildings to find out what’s inside, check out the pictures, and get contact details. The map has zooming, rotation, and panning, so it actually handles like a game. A built in social network lets you check out where your friends have been and read their reviews. You can log-in directly from Facebook, or create a new profile on the site itself. UpNext requires the installation of a Java applet but it’s pretty quick and you don’t have to download it again afterwards. The next cities to be included on UpNext are Boston and San Francisco.
