TweeteRate is a new service that aims to extend the power of Twitter by letting users of the popular platform rate the performance of each other. That is, they give each tweet a rating that falls into any of the following categories: “Useful”, “Funny” and “Lousy”.
The site lets you to see an instant toplist of any of these categories, whereas you can see how others have rated you at a glance, and hide your face or pick up your guitar and sing “I’m sitting on top of the world” like Al Jonson did.
If you only want to check your current standing, you can actually do so without having to furnish your Twitter password. You simply key in your Twitter username and hit the “Check ratings” button. On the other hand, if you want to rate somebody then you must supply your password.
Other than that, the site features a list of the top rated tweets of the last seven days. See if you make the list for all the right or wrong reasons – the former is preferable, of course. But as some advertisers would say, “there is not such a thing as bad publicity”.
