Adobe’s AIR runtime, which lets developers create rich and varied internet apps, is rapidly becoming popular across the web. These applications run the gamut from project management tools to lightblogging implementations.
TumblWeed is of the latter ilk. It’s an AIR based application developped for use with Tumblr, the popular microblogging service. Right now, it’s in Alpha phase, so the output is pretty minimalistic; nevertheless, TumblWeed does add some cool capabilities to Tumblr posting. Among these is clipboard photo posting, for easy access, a mini dashboard for viewing posts, progress boards for uploads, and built in updating. Other features include privacy options, tags, dating and groups. TumblWeed is available for both Windows and Mac. A streamlined set up process for beginners has also been implemented.
