TransGenderCare.com is a site to praise for its professionalism, its insight, and the fact that it deals with very complex medical and psychological issues in a very accessible and accurate way.
The site belongs to the Tampa Gender Identity Program and is designed to provide support and information for those persons researching male-to-female or female-to-male gender transition, their families and friends in several areas of interest, like hormonal and surgical procedures, psychological aspects of gender definition or hair removal techniques; each of these sections carries different kinds of information, namely feature articles, a library of specific and usually more in-depth (and more technical) pieces, and other associated resources dealing with things like law, glossaries or directories of providers. There are also practical tips, like the section on how to deal with specific discomfort and pain associated with the transitional process, like that resulting of electrolysis (a process to eliminate body and facial hair). In short, this site is a great example of medical/health resources, and hopefully one that will become a standard in terms of information accessibility, design and resources.
