Trakz is one of these URL shorteners that thankfully bring something new to the table. And while I’m not sure how much usage would it see as far as average internauts are concerned, I know for certain that people who are passionate about music as I am will bookmark the site and use it frequently.
That is because Trakz is a URL shortener for links in which music content is found. By shortening the URL, you are effectively making the audio clip that it contained there listenable via a player which is provided as part of the package.
This means that anybody can put MP3s about without having to disclose their actual extension (something that can lead to them being wiped out from the Web), whereas it enables the one who stumbles upon the link to listen to the song in full, without having to download a single file.
I am the first to agree that this service won’t be used by everybody and his wife, but for music buffs like me it is nothing short of intoxicating.
