Here’s yet another service offering the same you’d get from Yahoo! Answers or AOL’s recently launched doppelganger, or a gazillion other sites doing exactly the same; the system works basically like all the rest: anyone can post a question either to one of the top ranked experts directly, or in the public forum, and then get anyone with ‘expert’ status to answer. Experts are then ranked according to the usefulness of their suggestions, and that’s the way to improve one’s status, and get to answer more questions.
The few points in which TodoExpertos.com sets itself apart from its competitors is that it carries a Firefox quick search add-on, and widgets that experts can embed in other websites or social network profiles showing the latest answers and allowing people to ask a question directly form a third-party website, plus it’s built for and kept by Spanish-user speakers mainly from Latin America, though it’s clear this is not a privative feature, as other platforms also offer multi-language services, alongside other useful relevant features TodoExpertos.com lacks; for instance, in similar platforms, experts are required to provide an answer in a given time-frame, and if the outcome is not satisfactory, other community members are welcome to give their opinion, which gives them more points. The site is being marketed as a way for experts to show the world about their expertise and in that way get a better chance to get hired for a job they are good at, but I reckon that not enough buzz about this capability is being generated, but hopefully it will.
