The Tip Card is a clever mashup of Yelp and Foursquare that basically lets you rate any restaurant you ever find yourself at. You do that by using the provided iPhone application, which is available for free, and that lets you explain why you’ve left a generous (or a measly) tip at any restaurant you’ve visited. And then, these ratings will be shared with all of your friends.
Ratings are based on six main contact points (IE, how quickly your meal arrived, how polite the waiter was…), and ratings can also be automatically shared both on Facebook and on Twitter.
On the other hand, The Tip Card app lets you find restaurants by proximity and by cuisine. So, finding good venues to take your new date to (or any business partner that you’re trying to impress with your good taste) comes down to fishing out your smartphone and doing a quick search.
The Tip Card works with Foursquare, and it’s also possible to create an account of its own for using the service. It costs nothing, but that would turn finding the venues you want to rate into a slightly more laborious task. Keep that in mind.
