The Search Race is a new sub-site of AltSearchEngines.com, where users can discover alternative search engines and help decide which earn top status.
The race starts with AltSearchEngines.com’s monthly Top 100 Alternative Search Engines list, but on the new site, it’s the users who decide the rankings that will eventually determine the Search Engine of the Year. Anyone can browse the Top 100 or other site content at TheSearchRace.com, but only registered members may participate in voting for which sites should rise in the rankings. There’s no cap on how many sites you can vote for, though you’re limited to one vote per site. Members can also submit new alt search engines to be entered in the “race,” and post comments on any search engine they’ve tried. Search engines are categorized by type, such as General Search, Human-Powered Search, Video Search, Family-Oriented Search, etc.
